On the 12th of July 2006 a National Meeting of members of Reforming Alliance within the UCA (RA), and Evangelical Members within the UCA (EMU), declared the decisions of the 10th and 11th Assembly of the UCA to be apostate.
Apostasy is used here to describe the failure of the Assembly to correct false teaching on sexuality and the decision to enshrine it in the Church’s understanding of what is right and good. We reject any attempt to link apostasy with violent, hateful or bigoted behaviour which demeans other people, including those with whom we must disagree on this matter.
In this section we will outline how the Assembly of the UCA, incrementally over many years, changed the Faith and Doctrine of the Church, putting it outside the 'faith and unity of the one holy catholic and apostolic church'.
