In response to the apostacy of the UCA, the ACC was established in 2006 to call the UCA Assembly to: (a) uphold the Scriptures' prophetic and apostolic testimony to Christ as the final authority for the Uniting Church's faith and life; and (b) 'to determine matters of doctrine and ethics according to the teaching of the Scriptures as understood by the one, holy, catholic and apostolic Church' etc.
